After building and marketing blogs for many of our clients, we finally got around to creating our own blog dedicated to online marketing. I often make excuses for the state of our own online marketing program, which needs more work. My favorite excuse is the old expression “the cobbler’s children have no shoes”, which refers to the story of a cobbler who doesn’t have enough time to make shoes for his own children, so they walk around with bare feet.

Well, the excuses are over. It’s 2007, time to stop planning, and time to get things done. We have redesigned our website and launched this new blog to help our customers learn more about search.

One of my favorite business books is “The E-myth Revisited” by Michael Gerber. The primary theme of the book is that business owners should spend more time working “on” their business, rather than working “in” their business. According to Gerber, if you build processes and systems that enable your employees to perform tasks properly, you should have time to work “on” your business. I love helping our clients increase their website visibility and watching their companies grow. I also think that now is the time to put more effort into promoting our business online.

So first things first – what’s the mission of our blog? The 262 Blog will be written to educate existing clients and new business prospects. We will cover many different topics, but the primary goal of our blog will be providing information to our readers, helping them make better and wiser decisions about Internet marketing. We want to help everyone understand the key components of online marketing, which can sometimes prove a little daunting. This blog may help you, the reader and business owner decide where you should focus your efforts.
To provide a wide variety of perspectives, each of TwentySix2’s employees will add content to the blog.

At the end of the day, moving your business forward online is about making a little bit of progress each day. Some businesses put up a website and wait for things to happen. Smart marketers know that creating online dominance requires a lot of work over a long period of time. Hence, we named our business TwentySix2 Marketing – after a marathon, which is 26.2 miles. You have to stick with it and keep creating new avenues to get more website visibility. If you want to grow your business online, there are a lot of marketing channels at your disposal. Our goal is to teach you about the strengths and weaknesses of each channel and to help you make progress.

Are you ready to take your business to the next level….online?
